Wilderun is a kennel located in the scenic Columbia Gorge region of Oregon. We are dedicated to producing healthy, sound, biddable and confident wolfdogs that thrive in active homes. Our dogs are first and formost our companions, but are very athletic and intelligent, and enjoy working in venues like bikejoring & weight pull. Our foundation animals are fully health tested and temperament tested and come from lines selected for temperament and structure.
Our program has influence from wolf, spitz, and Alaskan Husky genetics. Our puppy owners should have a solid understanding of primitive/working breeds, pass a general screening process and interview, have a secure containment area for their dog when unsupervised, and expect to undergo a home check.
Our dogs live indoors with access to a secure yard, and are crated or in a kennel run outside when we aren't home. All the dogs I breed are selected for their stable temperaments, and how well they respond to training and socialization to live as active companions with me and my other dogs. We also select for a moderate working drive with a good off-switch to make them suitable for hobby-level dog sports, like bikejoring.
My puppies are born and raised inside, with daily handling and Early Neurological Stimulation. I use the Puppy Culture protocol on my puppies for socialization, offer lifelong breeder support, and will always take back a dog if needed at any age.
